Transformers are coming to Singapore

"Transformers, more than meet the eyes". This caption has been lingering around
since Daddy was in his secondary school years, that is easily 20 years ++.

From the 80s, the rise of the machines !


This March 11-14, Autobots and Decepticons are coming to Singapore !
Hasbro, together with Resorts World (RWS) will bring Transformer Mania to Sentosa ! COOL !



Introducing "TRANSFORMERS CYBERTRON CON 2012".


What are the highlights of this CyberTron event?

- view how Transformers have evolved over the years
- grab your souvenirs, animation and video games
- take a photo with 22 Foot Optimus Prime, the biggest Transformer model
- for the kids, Transformer drawing classes, with Hasbro artists
- not sure whether there are cosplay performances.

Sentosa Flowers 2012

On day 2 of CNY, we visited Sentosa's Flower festival. Starting from carpark, we realised a lot of people have decided to drop by RWS for their gambling kicks :p

Dragons feature at every corner.

Even dinosaurs are consider "dragons, as their Chinese name is 恐龙.

We did not follow any itinerary, we head to the less popular joints for our photos.

Some queues stretch to 20min, and we realised a lot of tourist request for multiple photoshoot ! One person, two person, whole family, then one person again! We should limit every group to maximum three photos.

Some of the setup will be recycle for Valentine's.

Hot day, and kids miss their naps again, no wonder Yi is yawning. Only food and Fun will keep him awake.

The usual photo booths, ideal for family portraits (but you have to squeeze with others). Do take more photos and join Sentosa Flower contest.

It is a challenge to navigate through the crowd with our stroller, but somehow, we still manage to squeeze in opportunities for family portraits.
(if you need to mount that tripod, do be careful as some kids might trip your precious camera over !)

Before we head home, we decide to pop by Malaysian Food street for some snacks, but the queue put us off! Yes, we blogged about some delicious food earlier, but we are not going to enjoy more Queues :p

Of all the dragons at Sentosa, this is our favourite. Made of lanterns, Dragon looks very impressive.



If you are interested in Sentosa Flowers ,the last day is 29Jan.
We will recommend that you take the boardwalk, our carpark bill came up to $14 for 2 hours.

Sentosa Flowers is back

圣淘沙春节花会 (Sentosa Flowers 2012) will run from 22Jan to 29Jan 2012.
We can see flowers (Spring 春), a Floral Dragon, and do bring your tripod along for all the photo opportunities.



Do you know that you can walk across to Sentosa from Vivocity via Boardwalk? We did it last year, and it was hassle free
(entrance fee is only $1, besides carpark fees would be limited and expensive on Sentosa)


This year round, you will also get to enjoy famous Malaysia hawker food at ResortsWorld.

Famous Malaysian Food in Singapore

Penang Laksa, Malacca Chicken Rice Balls, KL Claypot rice.
Singaporeans craved for these dishes when we are in Malaysia.

Berhenti (Bahasa Melayu for STOP!), when you are near famous food eateries up North.


On 12 Jan 2012, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will open it's Malaysian Food Street. Yes, you will be able to savour some of Malaysia's most famous dishes under one roof !

Malaysian Food Street setup takes you back to the 50s and 60s. Except for the air conditioning,
you can imagine yourself eating in one of Malaysia's side streets.


Food pricing catering to the masses.


Presenting the famous chefs from all over Malaysia. They form part of the 17 food stalls, which are handpicked from Malaysia.

The RWS team has to trial 200 hawker food over eight months, and they can have Claypot rice all day long. As Chef Adolf mentioned : "吃到你怕 !".

Invited guests will get to savour eight dishes today. For more details about the street gourmet, refer to RWS's media release. You will get to know the history of the food too !

Huen Kee Claypot Chicken Rice. Every piece of grain is polished and tasty !

Earlier, we had the opportunity to view how a pot of Claypot was prepared.

Penang Hai Beng Hainan Lor Mee, thick sauce, and sweet condiment. Yummy.

Jalan Alor KL Hokkien Mee. Each strand of noodle has a chewy texture.

Honestly, the six dishes beforehand proved to be an oily overdose, and Daddy was only too happy for the porridge to soothe his throat :)

Petaling Street Famous Porridge. If you like innards, you will love this dish ! Crispy and crunchy.

Chendol to wash down all the food. Sweet !

Finally, KL's famous pastries from "Fung Wong Confectionery" dispatch us on our way. The char-siew sau-pau (hot buns with pork) and egg tarts proved irresistible.

Christmas at Sentosa Resorts World

Last Friday, we decided to checkout Sentosa Resort World's Christmas decorations. As you can tell, the floor is wet from an earlier downpour.

Same tree, different colours :)
You will not miss this hugh tree ! We heard there is another Giant at Vivo city.

Kids proceed to bully M&M and friends. Hope these decorations are child-damage proof :p

Imagine, sinking your mouth into the largest M& M or Cadbury ! Heaven.

At 9pm, we heard Fireworks. Must be from USS's Hollywood Afterhours.

We did not remember so much Mist around USS Globe when we pop by last round. Cool and mystifying.

Boon Xin likes to run inside the mist and play hide and seek !

Sentosa cable car and Underwater world

Back in Jun, we took the cable car to Sentosa. There was a 50% promotion for cable car and Underwater world. Alas, the bill still came to $100 !

Family just love cable cars, look at our adventures at Genting and Taiwan !

What can you see up on top?


One by one, the cable cars bypass each other, we try to pinch one of them keke :)

The famous USS globe


Our tickets allow us to visit Cable car museum too, and there were so many replicas for us to pose.
(Actually photography is not allowed, but everyone were flashing away ooops )


Lego cabin ! This cabin is for show only, and not meant for slinging you across Keppel harbour !


Underwater world and it's inhabitants await us. We caught two sharks posing with us !


Seahorse, Garden eel, and feeding time. We are attracted to anything which moves.


Not sure what is this fish's name, but we call it "Cute". When you slide your hand it, the fish will let you pat it !

..but we kept our hands to ourselves, when we see these giants (prehistoric creatures)

Touch pool, which kid can resist touching starfish? and hermits? The stingray feels weird though.

We teach the kids to different between touch and no-touch pools ! We do not want anybody to dip their fingers into a tank full of tiger or bull sharks !

There are a variety of crabs, from tiny to giants !

The travelator brought us around the aquarium. One round is not enough !



We even bump into Phelan's family on the ride. What a small world.


Daddy love the jelly fish.

Next, Dolphin lagoon. The dolphins are pink in colour !

We left Boon Xin in school today, so that Daddy and Mummy can spend more time with the boys.

Out of fun, we went back to Mount Faber in two cabins :p

ps.. after the ride, Daddy shared with us how two cabins fell into the sea in 1983, killing 7 people.
It was an unfortunate incident, and we hope it will not happen again.
