Punggol Waterway

**updated 2011Oct28 - do avoid going over lunchtime, as there are very little shelters. And no one seems to know about the water-feature playground's operational timings.

Yesterday, Punggol Waterway was officially opened. We saw the bouncing castle from far away, but what capture the kids' attention was the water feature playground !

If you forgot to bring swimwear, just go in with undies :)
Kids were having a ton of fun splashing around. Cool !

Families come out in force to support Punggol's "Venice".

When we arrive at 6plus, the sun has already set. But the atmosphere is still one of celebration.

Love the water bodies, canoes, boats, even a leisurely walk along the river proves relaxing. We definitely need to come back for a cycle, and explore the other sections of Punggol Waterway.

Daddy love this motion pic, the boat seems to be zipping down river at full speed.

The special lighting on the ground looks like an inferno illusion. Spectacular !

We end the evening with Fireworks

Video : Fireworks !

Punggol WaterWay Park

**updated 2011Oct28 - do avoid going over lunchtime, as there are very little shelters. And no one seems to know about the water-feature playground's operational timings.

Daddy blogged about Punggol Waterway Park earlier, and Sunday 2 to 10 pm will be the official opening. On site, everyone is putting in the final touches.

Laser lights dancing in the sky

The iconic Arch bridge (not sure what is actual name)

More pictures will be added to our Fanpage Punggol album as we go along.
This park is going to be happening.

Punggol Jetty, good spot for family picnic

At the end of Punggol Road lies a jetty and the beach. Across this narrow stretch of sea is Johor's Pasir Gudang. A few decades back, people use to drive up here for seafood, and it will be packed in the evenings.

Daddy drove by to revisit the area. Seems like some development is going on in the background. Looks like another cosy F&B corner is spurting along the coast (similar to Jalan Tebing opposite Lorong Halus)

The jetty has remained unchanged since yesteryear...

But Daddy did not expect this spot to be so popular with families picnicking.

Fishing must be the no1 hobby here at Punggol Beach.

Daddy saw children picking pebbles and throwing into the sea.

This place is very windy, but there is no shelters to hide from the sun.

The sun sets too fast

Wow, Daddy and the kids look forward to see how Punggol beach will be transformed.
Those living in Punggol and Sengkang will have another spot to chill in the evenings !

One day, our kids will be able to trek or canoe from Punggol Jetty to Lorong Haus.

Lorong Halus Wetland, Night scene

Nice oasis along Sungei Serangoon. This bridge connects Lorong Halus to Punggol new town. Since it's opening a few weeks back, this wetland has generated a lot of interest.

Although we call Lor Halus "Wetland", did you know it was a "Rubbish land" just years ago? What a transformation !

Daddy saw a lot of families walking down the boardwalk, just enjoying the breeze.
And the sky was clear enough to spot some stars, and a crescent.

Normally, it is hard to spot Stars in bright-lit Singapore !

Jogging, cycling, roller blading..so much activites

The bridge, ergonomic design.

Daddy just love this iconic bridge. When is our kids free to pop by?

If you are interested in the greens, do pop by our Sengkang Wetland article.
