Tampines 1 water playground

It is an understatement to say we had fun at Singapore's latest rooftop waterplay area. Yes, we are talking about Singapore’s first wet-and-dry wildlife-themed rooftop playground at Tampines 1.

The Hippo, Elephant, Polar Bears and Giraffe kept us soaked (literally) for two solid hours !

Actually, the kids were full of anticipation when they knew we were going for water sports. Even Daddy and Mummy are curious about the polar-bear on Sat's papers!

We arrive early..

Before we could start swimming, we participated in family photo (cosplaying),
and even sword-fighting with the resident big Polar bear :p


Did we mention this was a bloggers preview? We saw so many friends bring their kids along.
Very Very happening ! (Hello JBabies, OurEverydayThings, DaddyNivlek, aJugglingMum, MamaWearPapaShirt, RuthWongWrites and MadPsychMum). Even Tampines1 got their own blog :)

We are so glad our cousins Kara and Joley join us too :)

After seeing the compound, can you imagine how hard it is to rein the kids in?
Everyone were rushing to change into their swimming attires !

The older boys rushed to the Artic corner, and slide down Polar Bear's tummy.
Daddy love the white ice bergs ! Impressive !

Look at our cheeky Wen Yi. He is in his own world already !

Hello Wen Yi, do you know Elephant are protected species? Boy went around stalking the poor elephant haha.

Oh no, kids got water-guns in their goodies bag, and nobody was safe in their AK47 or M16 mayhem !

Even our little gal was pleasantly surprised with her pistol power !

Hungry? There are Frogs cupcakes to entertain us.

Ok, some parents got ambushed or splashed, but nobody is complaining. Just look at all the smiling little faces. Even Daddy is tempted to join in the fun !

What can you do in the dry area? Kids had a go at everything.


Come 10Mar, Tampines 1 rooftop will be officially opened. Do drop by this waterplay area, and you will understand why we love it so much !

What did we bring home with us? A giant football sofa, and additional knowledge
about Earth's eco-system and inhabitants.

Looking at the colourful slides, swing, water sprays and even Treehouse, it is definitely nicer than barren concrete. SengkangBabies say, give us more Green spaces anytime :)

Tampines 1 is the latest shopping centre with a rooftop playground.
Someone has decided to bring the Zoo to the roof haha ! (Read about Tampines 1 here)

Changi City Point

If you happen to be at Singapore Expo, you might want to checkout Changi City Point. We were there last week, to soak in some Fun at the rooftop.

As shopping mall is new, playground is still very clean and well maintained. Head to Level 3 "The 3 House".


We discover Boon Yee is a sharpshooter, and he will gun you down !

Cooling respite from the Sun.



In case your kids should be bored at the playground, occasional airplanes might attract their attention.

Let us show you how to have FUN ! There is also a Dry section at the playground, but the surface areas are scorching ouch.

Woodlands Waterfront

Woodlands Waterfront will not be a stranger to those living in the North.
Playground is actually at Admiralty. Click for map.

The Jetty and Playground are popular with residents in the morning and evenings. But we would suggest to avoid the afternoons, we melted halfway across the Jetty :p

From the Jetty, you can even spot vehicles crossing the causeway. Malaysia's state of Johor is so near to us.

There is a large playground here to cater to kids of all ages. If you are adventurous, you can even climb onto the suspended bridge. We only spend 30 min here, but we will definitely be back again.

NEX waterplay

Nex shopping Mall is at Serangoon MRT. On the rooftop, there is a SkyGarden with waterplay feature. Mummy brought Wei and Kang there one day in Aug :)

Punggol Waterway

**updated 2011Oct28 - do avoid going over lunchtime, as there are very little shelters. And no one seems to know about the water-feature playground's operational timings.


Yesterday, Punggol Waterway was officially opened. We saw the bouncing castle from far away, but what capture the kids' attention was the water feature playground !


If you forgot to bring swimwear, just go in with undies :)
Kids were having a ton of fun splashing around. Cool !

Families come out in force to support Punggol's "Venice".

When we arrive at 6plus, the sun has already set. But the atmosphere is still one of celebration.



Love the water bodies, canoes, boats, even a leisurely walk along the river proves relaxing. We definitely need to come back for a cycle, and explore the other sections of Punggol Waterway.


Daddy love this motion pic, the boat seems to be zipping down river at full speed.


The special lighting on the ground looks like an inferno illusion. Spectacular !

We end the evening with Fireworks
