Fire Station open house

Every Sat from 0900 to 1000, most Fire stations in Singapore will be having open house.

The last time we went Sengkang Firestation was in 2008.
Look at how Yi has grown since then. Still very much adorable :p

This time round, our Sengkang neighbour Daddy Vincent and Xavier joined us. The kids had so much fun bantering together, talking about the ambulance, fire-engine, fireman and water fun.

We can role play as medic or fireman.

We took some quiz, and everyone gets to wear the coveted Fireman's hat !

We can play the ladder.. it is free :p
You need one adult to accompany each child, if you wish to access the ladder.

Tampines Fire Station open house

Every Sat from 9 to 11am, Fire stations across Singapore is open to the public (except Jurong Island). We chose Tampines today, as we thought it might be less crowded.

In case you are interested, click to view our experiences at Central and Sengkang branches. This is also Wen Xin's first visit to a firehouse.


We arrive early, Tampines also housed HQ for 2nd CD.
Uncle Rizal is our guide for today. He patiently impart his firefighting skills to us.

I am a full time kid, part time driver ! Wen Yi can be bus driver if SCDF rejects him.

We climb up and down the vehicles. Oh, the helmet is HEAVY for our small head !

We would love to ride the bike around, if we can just slot in $1 coin :p

Our fire fighters make it look simple, sliding down the pole.

We are vertically challenged. Daddy say there is one type of dance called pole-dance.
Kids start wondering :you mean people swing like monkeys around the pole?

We took a peep into Control Room (watch room).

Does Singapore has a firewoman?
Do we call female firefighters firewoman?

On the way home from school, we saw a long line of firetrucks, rhinos along KPE exit (heading towards TPE). A big bush fire must have erupted.

Anyway after dinner, Mummy ask who want to help fight fire next time?
The boys spontaneously grab their helmet.. Me me me !!!

They might still be small, but they are season travellers okay.

Central Firestation is 100 years old

Central FireStation is celebrating it's 100 years old.
Daddy decide to bring us to visit our valiant Firefighters.
(Every Sat 0900-1100 is open house )
Lta Foo patiently explain to us the nuts and bolts of the Fire station.
There is a long queue to mount the ladder.
Push the Rhino, Ambulance in action. Full of activities.
Little firemen in action. Got Pole dancing too.

As it was still raining, we went to the Heritage museum.

We saw a lot of model kits, and lego, even Transformer fire-engines.
Luckily, the toys were locked.

Antique fire engines.. and we become drivers !

Can you spot the bell? We could not ring it as it was too wet.

Still raining after 1 hour.. and we had to quick march back to our Car along Armenian street.

Daddy :Although we miss the high rise spectacle from the CPL (Combine Plaform Ladder). The rain brought out some of the kids' best smiles.
Nobody was complaining, really kudos to the kids : )

Daddy tell the boys that firefighters are very brave, and in other countries, they need to fight forest fires bigger than Singapore, or even save people from falling Towers (911 Manhattan).

SengKang Firestation

Every sat is open house for Firestation.
So we decided to bring brood down to Sengkang station to have a look, and feel.

We got more than we bargain :)

we got to simulate spraying, but did not have chance to extinguish a fire ...
