Singapore Flyer at Night

Daddy went downtown to soak in F1 frenzy and also to try Singapore Flyer.

.. some Flyer time-lapse just for fun. Love the colourful rotations !

If you like our Flyer time-lapse, you might like other time-lapse projects :
- Swimming Pool
- Good Morning

What can we see in the evening sky?
Everything looks different in the night (MBS, Gardens, Millenia)

The road below is illuminated by powerful lights. It needs to be bright,
as F1 will tear down Marina circuit this weekend !

The capsules will change colour from pink, to blue to yellow.
Eye catching from far and near.

This must be a Vip capsule, Daddy spot a butler, two sofas and a couple. Romance comes at a price :p

When you are engross in the night scenes, Singapore Flyer seems to rotate too fast.

The movement means it is not possible for tripod or 5s long exposures.

It is challenging to shoot with the reflections.

Flyer hidden by trees

All too soon, our capsule touch down again. Daddy love the night scenes, but he suspect children might be bored, as everything is "dark".

Singapore Food Trail, Ice Ball, Rojak, Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak, Oyster Omelette, Yummy !

We visited Singapore Food Trail (foot of Singapore Flyer) a few weeks back. It was a dry run, and Daddy had promised to bring everybody back for dinner. Food, glorious food, and the oldies ambience are the main attractions.

Although the food might not be the best-in-class, we can savour Singapore's most popular dishes under one roof. Our parents would feel nostalgia about the 60s and 70s setup.

We believe there are only 4 high-chairs (for toddlers) in the premise! Too little.

Most of the dishes need no introduction :)

Chili Padi to dip with your pork ribs...sedup!

Even Wen Xin can appreciate some herbal tonic soup.

Prawn crackers anyone? Warning, price is on the high side keke, and buy only if are hungry for more.

Oyster omelette, above average, but Oyster a little small. Potent chili :)

Rojak is good, and we love the pungent prawn paste (hae kor) !
Can the fried fritters be more cRunchy?

Tuck in

How much is this funky old-fashion lamp?

More chili ..Hot !

Go easy on Ngor Hiang, as Daddy feels it is overpriced.

Satay, grilled until crisp and juicy. The peanut gravy can be thicker.

Everybody had fun with the Ice BALL!

We finish everything on our table. Kids gobble down their chicken rice.

Bird Nest drink anyone? We love the mugs :)

We recommend that your family try out Singapore Food Trail, for novelty's sake :)
Food is above average, and most food are priced from $4 to $8.
Do go early to avoid the crowd.

Video : We enjoyed ourselves !

In case you are still hungry for Round 2.

Singapore Flyer 2011

01Mar, Daddy hopped into Singapore Flyer with Kang and Yi.
Daddy had taken the day off to accompany the two boys. After Flyer, we toured Singapore Food Trail, before heading to Golden Village for Gulliver's Travel screening.

As this is our second Day trip, the novelty is no longer there.
Click to read about our previous experience in Nov2009.

Wen Kang playing with Daddy's old camera. He looks like a professional, and he has results to show (Scroll down to end of page)

Only 3 of us in cabin, Kids are always happy whenever they go on excursion.
They got excuse to skip school too :p

During the last Flyer trip, MarinaBaySands (MBS) was not ready yet, but now, Helix bridge (DNA lookalike) and ArtScienceMuseum are all completed. So much activities surround Marina Bay.

The next big thing would be Gardens by the Bay. These two Greenhouses are hugh! And they will be housing Flora from around the world.

This is how the finished tree top will look like. You can actually dine on the roof, but we suspect the menu will be $exclusive :)

Yi asking everybody to click "play" for our scenic video :)

Daddy was pleasantly surprised at Kang's photography interest.

Kang has his own perception, eg he focus on the ponds (while Daddy capture the tree trunks), and Kang likes the football field (which Daddy took for granted) !

It is always interesting to "see" how our kids perceive and interpret from their own angles. Go on, pass a camera to your kid for the next outing :)

Maybe Daddy should go to Sand's SkyPark for some night shots, but we heard rumours that tripods are not "encouraged".

Singapore Flyer and Marina Barrage (i)

Singapore's Muslims celebrate Hari Raya Haji today, and it is a holiday for all. Daddy brought us to Singapore Flyer and Marina Barrage.

Flyer was very quiet in the morning, no jam.
Good for us, as only three families, share the cabin :p

舅舅's family joins us for the ride.
Our first portrait sums it all. We like the ride, day or night :p
The young photographer looks less than 20, but she manage to get everybody to focus for the shot !! Cool.

Waiting patiently, and eagerly

It takes 30min for Flyer to complete one rotation, but time flies when when we are engrossed with the sights, and photo-taking :p
The kiddos could not stop chattering, out of excitement.

Video : Climbing up

All the children, come and pose now. Kara and Joley were busy climbing up and down.

Video - paranomic view

We got clear blue sky, and unblocked view.

Wei got his own camera today, and he took some really nice shots.

Wei's pictures.

Wei trying more self-shots

What can x12 Zoom camera catch?

Saying hello to next Cabin

Video - reaching the top

Our cabin reach the top, and we see Mummy's office !!

Kang with a map

Video - touchdown

Daddy : if bringing kids along, go for Day trip., eh ..more things to see.
Bringing beau, and planning romantic evening? Avoid 6-7pm as this is Flyer peak hour, and cabin will be packed :p

Time to say bye bye to Flyer.

If you think our Flyer trip is fun, Marina Barrage is even more exhilarating, and it is FREE !!
