When did we even have to make a choice about Fireworks location? Since a few years back, every neighborhood got it's own countdown activities and Fireworks too !
From our home, and within 10min drive, we can reach three Firework sites in Sengkang and Punggol. Last year, we blog about how HOT are the neighbourhood Fireworks!

PUB wants you to be in touch with ABC. Recently, we keep hearing about new Water Features and Parks upgrade around Singapore.
The latest would be Punggols' Jewel "Punggol Waterway". Official opening is this Sunday and you can expect fireworks !

1) Bishan Park, they cover up the big Long-kang (canal), and let water meanders through. When Daddy was young, he used to join his primary school friends to catch guppies ! Click to read more about Bishan Park's developments. Boon Kang (with pacifier) might remember regular doggie walks.
2) MacRitchie Reservoir, has been there like forever. It never age, still attracting crowds every weekend. Daddy remember the awful cross-country runs :p The boardwalk will bring your family nearer to the water edge, and are stroller-friendly. 3) Punggol Waterway Park. The name itself shouts fun! You get Greens, running river, waterfalls, and wet playground for kids. All 4.2Km of WaterWay is built for family participation.
All these new developments mean more playground for kids. Hooray ! However, with urbanization, something have to go.
In Sengkang, large chunks of hills are level off. If you are traveling along TPE towards Jalan Kayu, you will see large expanse of secondary forest has been removed. Take the West Bound LRT and you will see more cranes and bulldozers. Condos and BTO are sprouting up at every corner in Sengkang, kite flying space is getting scare in Sengkang :(
One lazy Sunday morning, we hang out around our neighbourhood playground again. Who want to learn how to swing like monkey? Sliding seems more graceful :p
As kids grow, and they have more curriculum activities, our weekends are getting shorter. We try to keep Saturday mornings free, then we can take a slow walk around our neighbourhood. Anyway, any pace, as long as we go as a family.
Sun is good, but no wind. We could not see any kites.
Back to our usual haunt. Daddy hope the kiddos did not wake up anybody. We normally roam around before 0830 am.
Sat morning activities.. 1) We went to Wei's school, as he left his textbooks under table yesterday!!
2) Then we went to temple 拜拜平安健康.
3) Lastly, Daddy and Mummy brought us to our favourite playground. This is first time Wen Xin joins us at playground. She still does not know what she has been missing !! keke These captions are cute and comical.

Nothing like the weekends.. especially Sats, when we can wake up a bit later at 0800. Kids are normally awake by 0730, as they sleep by 2130.
Mummy, maybe by instinct, need minimum sleep, and she will wake up early to feed kiddos. Daddy is normally last one to wake up :p To make up for it, Daddy challenge the kids for a short run this morning. We went around our neighbourhood.

This is always what happens when kiddos run with parents..they always overtake you, only to slag down at the end.. All do not want to walk already :p Kang looks grumpy too. Daddy also brought us to playground.. actually exercise corner.. Video : Sengkang Gym
Mummy had brought the kiddos to another playground last week, The kids are spoilt for choice when it comes to playground.
Daddy : We missed those rugged playgrounds from yesterdays, where you can dig soil, jump, and swing like nobody business. New generation playgrounds are so s.a.f.e !!
That explains why a lot of architecture (buildings and murals) incorporates fishes, marine life, and ships. Since Daddy is finding Wei's primary school/s, we noted down their locations.

Daddy: When Daddy/Mummy fist move here, no LRT, no MRT, and no markets/malls !! After a few years, all the babies start popping up around SK and Punggol.
Maybe no entertainment, so parents sleep early hee hee :p

The sky was getting dark, and we have to leave earlier.. The boys are enthusiastic and cannot wait for SengKang to have similar races too.
