Taiwan Day 6 寧夏 (NingXia) Night Market

Shilin (士林) is not the only night market (夜市) in Taiwan, click for the other night markets in Taiwan. This post will talk only about Ningxia (click for more info and location 寧夏)

胡须张卤肉饭 (shop name is Bearded Zhang)

You must order the 卤肉饭 (braised meat rice), simply mouth watering !

You know it is good when kids have three servings each!

What else can you find in the night market, it is about 100m both side, very niche market. All benches were taken by diner.

Hot dogs with various dressing, wasabi, mustard, ketchup, honey, chilli, even black pepper !

This is like Malaysia's Lok Lok, you dip the skewered food into the soap. You might find some TomYam soup too .

Travelling can be tiring for the smaller kids, fortunately Boon Xin got her stroller most of the time :)

Sweet potato, ideal to keep you warm during cold weather ! We went back to buy more when the kids got addicted.

Oyster Omelette, Taiwan oysters always fresh, but we still prefer Singapore's version (more oily)

Pastries, we have to queue 20 min for this, and for your patience, please order at least two dozens haha :p

Beef noodle (牛肉麵 ) stall is also nice. You can find this stall along the night market.

  1. Hi. have been reading your posts of taiwan. I'm only going next mth and have left the 2nd child (he's 18mths) home. Am in awe that all your brood has followed you! Btw pls keep blogging on your travels. Your pictures are very informative, well shot and has made my research on travels to taiwan that much easier! we're going to the zoo since your pictures look so appealing. All to please just one kid. But your experience is an example of how we all love our kids and travel for much for their sake as ours..so...:)

  2. Thanks Dayzeahead, glad our story helps :)
Actually, I prefer the cable car rather than the zoo. Take note they have a 15min time limit for the Pandas now.

oh, your Klang BKT post is so tandalising. Yummy :)
We always bypass Shah Alam\Klang, so no chance to explore yet.

    cheers,Andy
